What have you learnt from audience feedback?

The audience feedback has have our group many idea's to help us improve the idea of our film. The feedback has allowed us to see what problems we have in our film and also gives us an opinion from a different audience other than ourselves. The feedback has allowed us to recognise that our film needs an improved and adapted ending in order for us to succeed higher. The feedback has also allowed us to recognise that we need a beginning on the film to help give a better understanding of the plot of the film and it will give the audience a better acknowledgement of the setting.

Ancillary Task 2- Double Page Spread

Double Page Spread

This is my double page spread in which i have created for my second ancillary task. I have used 2 images for my task which i feel are appropriate to use. My main image in which i have used is not an actual still from the film but is a image which has been taken of the setting of our film.

My double page spread follows the conventions of the horror film genre. I have used dark colours throughout task and used a bright red colour to highlight some main points in the text.

From my research i have tried to follow the conventional layout from the film double page spreads which i liked and thought were effective.

 My film is an independent film and the genre is a mainstream genre. I have tried to attract both audiences through my double page spread.

I have included an image of the film poster on my double page spread. This should hopefully attract my specific audience into reading my double page spread as the poster itself has may endorsements included such as a film festival logo and quotes from another magazine called 'Empire Magazine'.

Ancillary Task 1

This is my poster in which i have created for my ancillary task. I have used an image which is not an actual still from the film, but it is common practice to stage a photograph for a poster. The film follows conventions of a horror film with a zombie in a graveyard which sets an atmosphere. From my research i have tried to follow a conventional layout from film posters and from the horror genre. 

My film is an independent film and the genre is a mainstream genre. I have tried to attract both audiences through my poster. For example independent films need film festival endorsement in order to become known to avid film audiences. Also stating directors previous successes may help sell the film to fans of the director. Another endorsement i included was to add a quote from Empire magazine. The rating of the film at 18 may also attract audiences. Audiences of independent films tend to be older. I chose my poster to be in black and white but it may appeal more to independent film fans but the film mainly will rely on cult appeal which is another reason why i emphasised the director of haunted house.

Due to there being complications within our media studies short film group, we decided to combine our old idea of a zombie into a new and improved idea. We believe that the new idea of 'Ironstone' will allow us to achieve higher in our A level without having to start a new idea from scratch.
This planning sheet shows diagrams of some of the scenes within the new film. It also includes ideas on the setting, the story and the music and editing of the new film.
